# API Overview

> API overview for the AMZ Connect Amazon Product Data API: the base URL, API key authentication, and request basics for fetching Amazon product data as JSON.

The AMZ Connect API is a single, clean REST API. This page covers the essentials; the full endpoint reference is in the sidebar under **API Reference**.

## Base URL

```
https://api.amzconnect.io
```

## Authentication

Include an `Authorization` header with the value `Bearer {YOUR_API_KEY}` on every request. You can retrieve your API key from your dashboard.

```bash
curl --request POST \
  --url https://api.amzconnect.io/v1/get/product \
  --header 'Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY' \
  --header 'Content-Type: application/json' \
  --data '{ "asin": "B0H3Z781N7", "store": "com" }'
```

Keep your API key secret; do not expose it in client-side code.

## Requests & responses

- Product lookup and search use **POST** with a **JSON body** (`Content-Type: application/json`). The connection test is a POST without a body, the quota check a GET.
- All responses are JSON.
- The `store` value is the Amazon marketplace. Product lookup covers 24 stores: `com`, `co.uk`, `de`, `fr`, `it`, `es`, `ca`, `com.au`, `co.jp`, `in`, `com.br`, `com.mx`, `nl`, `se`, `pl`, `com.tr`, `ae`, `sg`, `com.be`, `cn`, `eg`, `ie`, `sa`, `co.za`.
- Search covers the first 18 of those, without `com.be`, `cn`, `eg`, `ie`, `sa` and `co.za`.

See the [API Reference](https://amzconnect.io/docs/api/reference/) for every endpoint, parameter, and response.
